'That is it!!!!' Xena's mind screamed at herself. 'I can't take this anymore!!' She marched out of her lavishly furnished room, kicking down the door, which was locked from the outside. She stomped down the hallway, and ran into the throne room. "ARES!!" she said. "Yea whadda ya want, Princess?" he asked appearing in a flash of brilliant blue light.

"I'm outta here."

"You're WHAT?"

"Are you getting deaf? I said I'm going, gone, bye, see-ya, arrivaderci! yo comprendo?!" (If all you non-Spanish speaking people are reading this, yo comprendo means You Understand)
"I've had it. You've had absolutely no time for me. You're too busy with your stupid wars!!!!!!"

"You. Are. Not. Going. Anywhere. We're married for Zeus' sake! If you forgot, look at the nice ring on your finger." Xena looked at the ring. It had one big, black pearl in the center, and had little rubies and emeralds and sapphires surrounding it. It was very beautiful. She remembered the day when Ares had proposed to her.

Setting: Ares had brought her to Olympus now that Gabrielle had died. Ares and Xena were at a banquet on Mount Olympus. All the gods and goddesses were there. Aphrodite, Cupid, Hera, Zeus, Apollo, Poseidon, Hades, Hermes,Demeter, Athena, Artemis, etc. It was a very important day. It was the day when Cronos was overthrown by his 'loving' son Zeus. It was an annual feast.They all sat at one huge table. Xena was sitting opposite side from Ares, was talking with Apollo. They were obviosly having a blast, giggling about something.They had been giggling and talking a lot, Ares noticed. Ares was talking to Discord, who was trying to get his attention with her talking about all the wars. But he was too busy looking at Xena who looked great in that flaming red dress she was wearing. The front part of the dress dipped fairly low and it was a V-shape necked dress. She had these sleeves that were so thin material you could still see her skin. At the waist, there was a gold band, and she had one necklace on. It was gold and had one big sapphire and two small emeralds accompanying it on each side. Her hair was done up very nicely and a few curled tendrils framed her lovely face. As for make-up, she used some pink lipstick that made her lips look absolutely luscious. She was a dream to Ares. And it looked like to Apollo too. Ares grimaced in envy when they laughed together. She never laughed like that with him...then Apollo put his hand on Xena's hand which was in her lap. She looked down at the entertwined hands, smiled and blushed a bit. Ares growled at the sight and looked away. He and the other gods finished their dinners quickly. After dinner, Ares decided to make his move on Xena. He was going to propose to her. Finally, after all these years. He made his way towards her. She had her back to him, watching the sun set. 'Perfect' Ares thought. 'The perfect mood'. He was next to her now and his heart started to thump. He started to speak but abruptly stopped. Apollo was in front of Xena with a small box,kneeling in front of her.

Ares' heart stop. He watched how Xena's face turned bright red and how a huge smile started to form on her beautiful face. His throat sank to his stomach. Apollo opened the box and there laid a ring, it was gold with a diamond in the center with two small rubies on each side. Ares realized he was too late and moved behind the pillars into the shadows and continued to watch. Apollo took out the ring and put it on Xena's finger. They were engaged.


SETTING: Xena and Apollo walk out into the main dining room where all the gods are. They walk in hand-in-hand.

"Everybody! Xena and I..." Apollo lovingly glances at Xena, "are going to be married." Silence. Then, a great cheer went up. "YAY!!!!" Everyone went to congratulate Apollo and Xena except for Aphrodite. She always wanted Xena to be with Ares. She exited the room, sniffling. This did not go unnoticed by Zeus and Hera, who were both resting on their thrones. "Xena?" Apollo whispered. "Yes?" "When will our wedding be?" Xena pondered the thought for a moment. "Is a week from now alright?" she asked. "Yes!"

Unknown to them, Ares was still hiding behind a pillar. He sighed. *Good move, moron.* he said to himself. He sighed again and slumped down to the floor against the pillar. After an hour or so, when all the gods were gone, Ares walked out, shoulders slumped, head down and shuffling around the table which had some leftovers. He picked at the leftovers for a while then heaved a huge sigh and sat down in a chair. He started to ponder how worthless he felt when he felt a presence.Looking up, he saw no one. Guessing that it was just him, he looked down at his hands where the ring, which he had planned to give to Xena, laid. "Bad day, son?" Ares looked up, startled. There, on their thrones, were Zeus and Hera. They had never really been the motherly and fatherly figure that he had always wanted. But, they weren't really MEAN and they were KINDA fatherly and motherly. "Yea" he said. "You could say that." Hera stood up and walked over to him. "What's wrong, dear?" she asked with concern. "Well, it's just...I was all ready to propose to Xena" he started, showing them the box that contained the ring. "And I was just about to talk to her when Apollo got to her first and asked her. And she said yes." "Oh my" Hera said. She looked up at Zeus. Her look asked him *can't you do something?*. And he shook his head, slowly, and sadly while pursing his lips and looking at his forlorn son. "No." he said. Hera put her slender, white arms on Ares shoulders. "Don't worry. I'll think of something." With that, she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, walked up to her throne, and both Zeus and Hera disappeared.
